Just in case people don't know, there has been a drug recall of the Accord (Northstar) 50mcg levothyroxine tablet -
Drug recall - Accord UK: Just in case people don... - Thyroid UK
Drug recall - Accord UK
Class 2 Medicines Recall: Accord-UK Ltd (Trading style: NorthStar), LEVOTHYROXINE TABLETS BP 50 micrograms EL (21)A/23
I take Accord 50mcg but it doesn’t say Northstar on the box as far as I can see. Does it include these or are they different please?Thank you.
I had a batch of those and they all crumbled. Had to swap boxes to a different batch.
Thanks for the heads up. I have been dispensed this product. What do I do with them? Take them back to the pharmacy?
I would consider doing so but the recall is technically not down to patient level. So I would probably only do so if it was a problem - like they are crumbling as you try to get them out of the blister pack.
But I would put in a Yellow Card report if you have any issues at all - even if you decide not to take them back.
Thanks Lynmynott.
