With hashimotos is it possible to stay on the same dose of medication for the foreseeable or will there always be fluctuations.
Recent results are TSH - 0.07 (0.27-4.20), T4 - 14.8 (10.8-25.5), T3 - 4.5 (don't know range) increased levo to 125mcg on Saturday and also take 10mcg T3
Thanks 🙏

Actually that’s my question too…I have Hashimotos also & the last 2yrs my numbers have gone up & down! So my doc has adjusted my meds as needed! I have been getting some bad anxiety/panic attacks that I attribute to Hashimotos!😩
I don't think it's wise to stick to the same dose - that's why annual blood testing is important. Many of us only really feel well when free T4 and free T3 are nice and high (top quarter of lab range or more) - ie rather higher than your last T4 result. So for lots of us, it's about listening to our body, checking our bloods and tweaking the dose as necessary. And it's important to check key nutrients too - ferritin, folate, vit D and B12 - and supplement as necessary to ensure you get the best from your meds x
maybe .. i have autoimmune hypothyroidism and was on 150mcg Levo for 12yrs without any change of dose. that eventually became too much (around the time i went through menopuase ) and have had a few more changes since then 125 for 3 yrs , then 112.5 then 100 and 112.5mcg currently.
However if i'd known more about my actual results, rather than just accepting GP's "results OK, continue on that dose" i may well have felt better for some of those 12 yrs if i'd made some small adjustments to dose .
With hindsight and having got hold of my old results , there may well have been times where a slight reduction would have been a good idea , and also times where a slight increase might have been an equally good idea.
but yes it's possible , not every one with hashimoto's has wildly swinging results.
I am on liquid and find it easier to up and down dose when I don't feel 'right' in the Winter when cold the thyroid thermostat needs a little help so I increase a little and when hot I drop it down and an endo agreed with me this was right.
I’ve had Hashimotos for years and been on 100 micro grams for almost all of the time - around 20 years? My TSH is often tagged as below normal but the GP has always kept the dose the same and I’m happy with that. (I am tested every year)
I did once ask him to reduce the dose which he reluctantly did. I ended up asking to go back to 100.
So much depends on outside influences and what your body is doing, so I think the answer is No. Once you have found the range that suits you, a little bit up or down is normal. An infection or a life stress can mean you may need to alter the dose by a bit. Finding the dose that you feel OK on is the main point, and with the help of this forum, I did just that. I was vastly underdosed by the GP. Reading many threads here, it seems many of us need a touch more though the winter too, which may link to our need for Vit D.
Couple more questions have come to mind - 1. Just say having a T4 of 18 made you feel good and back to normal is this the level you should try to maintain and 2. Out of all of you kind people who have replied are you managing to feel well most of the time with your hashimotos or have you too experienced periods of being not right. Again thanks for all your comments so far and looking forward to your replies 🙏
