I have hashis and have normal levels at the moment. I take levothyroxine. Also I’m 27 and work out often. Recently I’ve had a tight chest and my breathing feels off. Like I can’t catch a full breath. Doctors checked and my blood oxygen levels are 100 and they listened to my lungs - they said they’re fine. Has anyone else had this? Could it actually be just anxiety? For me, any time I feel something it always circles back to my thyroid so wanted to check on here if anyone has any advice. I don’t have covid. Thank you so much.

Normal for whom? Are you sure they're not too low for you? When a doctor says 'normal', all s/he means is 'in-range', which may not be 'normal' at all because the ranges are too wide. Your doctor might not even be doing the right tests. Do you have the actual numbers: results and ranges? If so, post them here and let's have a look. Then it will be easier for membes to give meaningful opinions.
Breathlessness often low iron/ferritin…..very common with Hashimoto’s, especially if under medicated
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Are you vegetarian or vegan
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested.
Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s thyroiditis)
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Is this how you do your tests?

Hi Lilydrew
This is interesting as it sounds like I currently have something similar to you (and I also have hashi’s) I also don’t have and have not had Covid (that I am aware of) but have been experiencing this on and off for a couple of months now - tight chest feeling which comes on quite randomly with the urge to take a really deep breath. Never had anything like it before.
I have not seen a GP so I’m afraid I don’t know what it is either but I too will be very interested in any replies x
Hi.
When I need my dose altering and then when I am getting used to an altered dose, breathlessness is common for me. As are palpations. From what I have read it is a fairly common symptom. Feels like anxiety but isn’t. Hope this helps?
Oh and for an example, early covid and mask wearing, I kept getting breathless when wearing a mask. I am not an axious person and was concerned that I was going to be one that just couldn’t wear them. Blood tests a couple of weeks later I realised I was undermedicated and started upping my dose age. Needless to say I have worn a mask throughout the pandemic and it’s hasn’t been an issue for me.
