CMA fines Advanz and others for over pricing of liothyronine

Advanz have said they will appeal. (No idea if the private capital companies are also appealing.) The CMA have replied to an email I sent asking about the timescales for what happens next. They have replied:

· The parties have 2 months to appeal a CMA decision (although they can apply for an extension)

· The appeal is made to a specialist tribunal – the Competition Appeals Tribunal (CAT)

· The CMA has 6 weeks to file a defence

· It is difficult to predict how long the process will take after that, although some guidance is provided on the CAT website: catribunal.org.uk/frequentl...

The CAT website also has some information about how the process is conducted, and has a wide discretion in relation to issues such as costs and penalties.
