My nose is wet again after introducing T3!

Josephineinamachine profile image

I don’t mean wet like a dog’s nose, just normal healthy nostrils. For 2 years I’ve been back and forwards to GPs with very painful and dry nostrils. Thought they were infected. Scabby, nasty things. Not infected. Resorted to using what can only be described as ‘nostril lube’ 😳

Anyway, literally the day after I introduced T3 I woke up with a streaming nose, sneezed a lot and then it settled. Nostrils since then completely fine, no sore dryness or bleeding. Absolutely normal nostrils. No need for nose lube anymore.

Go figure? Who ‘nose’ what Hashis is capable of?! I never thought it could be connected!

👃

Just thought I’d share 😊

Thank you. I think that goes along with too much thick wax in the ears which causes problems and tooth decay despite good hygiene which the dentist put down to my too thick saliva? What fun!

Hi Marymary - yes I think so too! And dry eyes as well maybe? My hearing became very bad just before I was diagnosed last year, honestly thought I was going deaf. Still think I’m struggling especially when watching telly. In the past I’d have rung up the surgery to ask if I could have my ears syringed but I doubt they’d do that now. I have gum disease and have to manage that with regular hygiene appointments for miserable scraping, but to be honest I put that down to being an ex-smoker 😕

Oh yes, you are right I forgot I have dry eyes too. Good luck with the T3.

Did you find ‘dryness’ improvements on T3?

No. Maybe the severity of those things but perhaps having Hashi sets us up for continued problems even if we are supposedly cured/treated.

😟 I guess for many we’ll never feel quite right again 🙁

Wow that is great!, I suffer from dryness as well, I was on NDT and it made me feel dryer, stopped it temporarily and got a little better, I wonder why?, I was taking NP thyroid and It makes me think its the mineral oil in it, I am going back on it, if it happens again I am trying to get it compounded, if that does not help might just be the ndt itself and might have to try something else, do you take t4 as well?

Hi yes, still early days of new dosage - Levo now 75 (was 100) with added T3 3 x 5 a day but have only got as far as 2 x 5 T3…going to up 3 x5 tomorrow as can feel the T4 reduction now in fatigue symptoms creeping back…

Anyway - definitely the T3 did this amazing thing with my nose! It can’t be a coincidence because nothing else was changed in diet or lifestyle. Just the added T3.

Good luck - a constantly sore and dry nose is painful and miserable!
