If your t3 level is low, would that cause anxiety and sleep issues?
Low t3 Symptoms?: If your t3 level is low, would... - Thyroid UK
Low t3 Symptoms?
Yes - been there got the T-shirt!
Absolutely, yes. T3 affects every part of the body. And the brain needs a lot of T3.
I’ve felt anxious and stressed since my covid jab over a month ago (not sure if caused by jab directly or a hashis flare. Emotional and not recovering well / poor quality of sleep/tiredness etc. is it worth adding another 2.5-5mcg on T3 seeing if it helps?
If you've had a Hashi's flare - aka Hashi's 'hyper' swing - your FT3 will be very high. So, if that's what you think it is, you should get tested before changing anything.
Probably nothing to do with your thyroid, more to do with the jab, but you can't know for sure unless you get tested. And, perhaps read the two threads specifically reserved for vaccination reactions. We're not really supposed to talk about it here.
Thanks, I have done and have contributed.
I lost my job and have been having panic attacks at night. Was anxious before that happened despite t3 being in normal range. Wanted to see if dropping 2.5 would help with anxiety. Turns out, it didn’t. I’m afraid to do anything bc of panic attacks
I’m so sorry to hear you lost your job. That of itself is incredibly stressful. Must feel even worse if your thyroid levels aren’t right for whatever reason.
I know you say your T3 is “normal” but that’s not necessarily optimal for you. Why not share recent blood test results so members can give you a perspective.
I personally find that if my blood levels aren’t right for me (despite being in normal range), ie too low, that I can be extremely anxious, suffer insomnia etc. I had that earlier this year and have had to increase T4 as well as reintroduce T3 to get back on track.
Of course it’s possible too that stress has affected your cortisol levels too. So anything you can do to rebalance them, like avoiding coffee, eating low GL foods, walking, doing meditation might also help.
