Patient Portals (at UCLH)

I was asked today about how to deal with complicated care at University College Hospital London.

After a little investigation on the hospital website, on the patients and visitors tab there is information about a patient portal.

If you are experiencing difficult interactions which seems more common with the stresses of Covid do have a look at your own hospital website.

Patient portals are becoming more common and staff often don’t mention the service unless they have used it themselves to see their records.

Having first hand information like this solves a lot of queries and greatly assists communication.

This link to the Patient Information gives a full explanation to MyCare

On further investigation the MyCare App is used by many more hospitals. It is worth looking at your local hospital

Interesting that they don’t post the ranges. King’s College Hospital never posts ranges in GP letters. London and Kent use different ranges. It is encouraging to see more effort is being made to recognise that patients both need and use their data.
