I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, the doctor says to me that this is a subclinical hypothyroidism, then he suggest me to take thyroxine 50mcg then i take thyroxine for 1 week and i feel anxious and insomnia then i quit to thyroxine then someone suggest me to go to homeopathic doctor he gives me a homeo medicine after 3 months i go for test and this is the report

T3: 6.72 (0.69 - 2.15 normal range)

T4: 5.14 (5.0 - 13 normal range)

TSH: 7.48 ( 0.3 - 4.5 normal range)

Before taking homeo medicine my report results are

T3 : 3.2

T4: 4.1

TSH: 9.18

Can anyone tell me what can i do now because if my T4 value is in normal stage then why my TSH is high and T3 is high then normal

Welcome to the forum.

I bet you feel pretty rubbish with these results.

You are clearly still very hypo - and need to take thyroid hormones - ie levo - to replace the hormone your body doesn't produce. Whilst there may be a time and place for homeopathic medicines (this is not the place to go into that) - you wouldn't use them to treat a broken leg and you can only replace a hormone with a hormone.

The aim is to take your levo every day - 50 mcg is a starter dose that is likely to need increasing - on an empty stomach - just with water - one hour before or two hours after other drink and food. You can take it in the morning, in the evening or split the dose - it make no difference - so if you are very sensitive to it, get a pill-cutter or scalpel or craft knife and take half in the morning and half at night. Re-test after 6 - 8 weeks.

The aim is to reduce your TSH until it is less than 2 and probably less than 1 and free T4 and free T3 are in the top third (or higher) or the lab range - not crawling along the bottom - and you feel properly well.

Have yo tried testing key nutrients? - ferritin folate, vit D and B12. It's important that these are good but a lot of us hypos need to supplement.

Good luck :)

Give a try to what I suggest - take your levo dose in stages, so you split the tablet and take half first thing in the morning and half last thing at night, and see how that works for you

HassanJutt, You need to stop taking this homeopathic medicine immediately. Thyroid disorders cannot be treated with homeopathic medicine.

I see from your profile that you quite smoking some time ago. It's not unusual for thyroid disorder to manifest following smoking cessation.

You may have autoimmune thyroid disease. This could explain the erratic FT3 numbers. You need to get tested for thyroid antibodies. Please seek help from a conventional doctor who is knowledgeable about thyroid disorders.

"You can only replace a hormone with a hormone".. This sentence of yours has grabbed my attention. I agree with you but not completely. Like Hassan I was told years ago I was suffering from subliclinical hypothyroidsm, I was immediately prescibed levo, I found out I was also suffering from hypertension caused by hypo and I put on 24 kilos in few years. Needless to say I noticed a strong decline in the quality of my life. I did take levo for a while, but I realised it was not effective and it caused me liquid retention. Not even mixing T3 and T4 was effective. I was reluctant to the idea of taking levothyroxin for a lifetime. More than 3 years ago I was able to improve my health conditions through NDT, as a friend of mine kindly sent to me some Thyroid S from Thailand, before the swine virus took over. I can say I was able to improve massively my hypothyroidism and all symptoms related vanished thanks to NDT which gave me my life back for a while. Due to these unprecedented times we have gone through because of covid and given this unpredictable swine fever and its consequences, in other words the lack of NDT on the market, I had to find an alternative solution to NDT. Late nights studying, I carried out my best effort to look into herbs and recipes, anxiously searching for a remedy for this disabling and sneaky disorder. For those who have lived or are still living this experience and continue to wonder what guilt and what dark destiny is reserved for those who have to deal with malaise, fatigue, fog, lack of vitality and a strong pessimism or extreme emotionality that permeates the mind and leads to disjointed fits of crying sometimes, let me tell you there is a way out. Not only hormones (it doesn't matter whether we talk about natural or synthetic hormones) but also Herbs can treat hypo. I represent in fact a sort of "case history" in the sense my thyroid was back to normal with NDT (not with Levo), it has come back to normal even now after starting to use herbs

A solution to this health issue will never be that one imposed by western medicine in my opinion, too tied to a logic which is far from the hypothyroidism phenomenon.

An organ that does not work properly should be read as a message, a request, launched by the organism that some of our behaviors is not sustainable for our delicate internal balance or that the internal balance has failed due to a sort of domino effect determined by pathologies interconnected. This approach would require long and complex path of individual analysis because, let me say, an endocrinologist who has to visit dozens and dozens of patients daily, must have a protocol that can adapt to the needs of the most, fast and as much as possible targeted on disorders that can be reclassified into a standard, when instead each of us is different, we all differ from each other. It would be important that the commitment to recognize these differences started from the overcoming of standardized approaches to thyroid pathologies, but unfortunately this remains a utopia; logic of costs rationalization and health protocols empty of meaning the grievances of those who do not feel treated, of those who continue to have symptoms of hypothyroidism Despite the treatment based on levo reserved for most people.

I am throwing rocks, I am aware of it but this believe comes from that feeling of being abandoned by western medicine in which, those suffering from this pathology, find themselves sooner or later. Hypothyroidism can be healed, personally I won my battle against with natural hormones (when NDT was actually easy to find) but now with herbs and when I think about the health problems I went through because of this pathology sometimes I start crying like an idiot, because now I have been able to go get my life back and it sounds like a miracle . Based on my experience, the healing passes through a path of acceptance and internalization of hidden truths. It is important that the commitment to overcome medical-scientific dogma is considered not as an anarchist revolution but as the intention of placing ourselves as promoters of our well-being. As active and non-passive subjects of a medical dogma, as subjects not emptied of our particularities. I'm proud of myself being able to find a solution, kicking off this alleged lifetime slavery called levothyroxine. This battle has made me a better person.

I agree some herbs can be immensely powerful but success would depend on the amount & functionality of remaining gland, as this would dictate how much nurturing of extra thyroid hormone could be enticed.

Many of us on here have no gland left at all due to autoimmune disease or thyroidectomy, so are 100% reliant on replacement where a hormone can only be replaced by a hormone.

What exactly was the 'Homeo' medicine ?

SlowDragon profile image

T3: 6.72 (0.69 - 2.15 normal range)

T4: 5.14 (5.0 - 13 normal range)

TSH: 7.48 ( 0.3 - 4.5 normal range)

These results are extremely odd

Can you double check you have correct numbers

Ft3 is now high and above range (suggests hyperthyroid)

Ft4 is below range (suggests hypothyroid)

TSH above range (suggests hypothyroid)

EXACTLY what is this medication that you have been taking?

I will tell you exactly, my English is not good so i try my best to explain you, i go to doctor who is homeopathic doctor he is a famous doctor in my area many people who are on levothyroxine are treated with homeopathic medicine and they don't need to take levothyroxine anymore so i decided to i also get treatment with this medicine and when i go to doctor with my reports my TSH is 18.5 much highr then normal then he gives me medicine and asked to to take 10 drops in water every three time before meal and at night he gives me a sachet to take this process is gone for 3 months and after three months and i go for test then my TSH is 9.1 looks like the medicine works and till i use homoe medicine for thyroid but now for some issues i just use this medicine only at night with 30 drops and i recently test and this is my latest report 5 days ago i am worried that why my T3 value is not in range the doctor says to me that this is why because you take medicine only at night with 30 drops

Unless the doctor is giving you some sort of liquid thyroid hormone you are going to get seriously ill. He may be giving you something that supports a healthy thyroid, but nothing, and I mean nothing, will help your health unless it is a thyroid hormone.

HassanJutt,

It is very important to understand that HypOthyroidism cannot be treated with homeopathy. This is something that any good homeopathic doctor would know. Obviously the homeopathic doctor that has given you homeopathic medicine for a thyroid condition is not a good doctor and should not be trusted.

Please seek help from a conventional doctor who is knowledgeable about thyroid disorders.
