Advice with taking 5htp and cdp oil please

Hi. Am I okay to take 5htp with carbimazole im really in need of a boost.

Also does anyone take cbd oil? Hopeing it will help with the pain in my arms at night which is really effecting my sleep.

I still take 5-HTP but take it roughly 3 or 4 times a week these days. I'm still on the same dose I've always taken - 50mg.

I can't help you on CBD Oil, sorry.

Hi humanbean, I've been curious about 5-HTP, do you mind if I ask what it does for you?

5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) acts like an anti-depressant and helps reduce depression. In some people it may also reduce anxiety and/or help reduce insomnia. Amongst other things it increases serotonin and melatonin.

You can see what the body converts 5-HTP to in the above diagram. It is in the left hand column, second substance down.

I have also virtually eliminated my anxiety, but I don't credit the 5-HTP with that, I credit getting my iron and ferritin as close to optimal as possible.

Hi Cornish_las, I've taken CBD for years. First I'll say it's very safe and non-addictive, similar to other adaptogens. It affects everyone differently so you'll need to do a little research to find what's best for your situation. It comes in oils and capsules, different strengths and formulations (compound/terpenes that target specific needs). There's a lot of research showing it's effective for inflammation and chronic pain, but I use it for mental balance and sleep. If you'd like to DM me I'll give you some websites of reliable producers and some good consumer information on how to choose what might work for you.
