Hello, does anyone please know which pharmacy in the UK can get Tirosint Sol? I have the prescription for my daughter but can only get capsules which is not ideal as we can’t really cut them.
Thanks

You could try the pharmacies on the ThyroidUK list thyroiduk.org/if-you-are-hy...
But googling for Tirosint Sol it seems that it is a liquid, which is why it comes in capsules not tablets. Maybe they produce different sizes of capsules.
don't know about 'tirosint' , but i'm certain i've read on here someone describing a liquid Levo in a bottle that you dose by ml. with a pipette. It was only the other day , i remember , cos they were discussing 'accidentally' dropping the bottle .... sorry can't remember which post it was on.
There are several levothyroxine oral solutions. They are based on glycerol so end up as a very thick liquid. It has to be measured out carefully - either in a spoon or an oral syringe. Both can be messy.
I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and many in other countries.
It includes all the UK levothyroxine oral solutions that I know of.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines.pdf
This document has information about the available thyroid hormones in the UK and, in less detail, around the world.

But Tirosint Sol is an ampoule with a thin liquid content. Can be taken directly into the mouth or mixed with water in a glass.
Do you know if its ok to cut the Tirosint gel caps like we do with the thyroxine pills? X
I have read of a very few people who do so - but as I have never even seen one, I really am not sure.
Clearly, the manufacturer expects people to take them whole. Any dose adjustment being achieved either by moving up or down the available dosages - or taking two gel caps.
Hi - I've taken Tirosint (50 mcg capsules) for roughly 4 years now as I became unable to tolerate NHS prescribed levothyroxine (and I did lots of research and found Tirosint thankfully). The pharmacy at The Manor Hospital in Oxford sources mine but I am under the care of an endocrinologist at The Manor. I'm not sure they would be able to source it for you if you are not under the care of a consultant there but it might be worth calling them to see what they say, the staff there are very helpful.
Hi - were you able to find Tirosint-Sol for your daughter or did she end up with the Tirosint capsules? : ) (hope your daughter is feeling well on whatever you managed to get for her.)
