You need a new blood test. I assume you know the best method when having blood draw and it is as follows:-

Make the earliest possible test. It is a fasting test so don't eat before and make sure you don't take thyroid hormones before it.

Request B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate to be tested as well as your thyroid hormones which are T4, T3, Free T4, Free T3 and thyroid antibodies.

The aim is a TSH of 1 or lower with both Frees in the upper part of the ranges. If you have thyroid antibodies, then you'd have the commonest form of hypothyroidism and it is called hashimotos. Going gluten-free can help reduce the antibodies.

Always get a print-out of your results with the ranges, for your own records and post if you have a query.

... and no doubt under-medicated. shaws is right - you need updated bloods, and probably an increase in meds x

I read your post and I’m exactly the same, and according to the doctor when I tried to make an appointment a couple of months ago he said it was due in May, so I really must get round to it. I’ve been trying to make an eye appointment lately which is difficult. Yesterday the assistant in the optician said she would put me down and ring me if there was a cancellation. Another problem coming up is jury service, I have to go for 10 days on the 24th and that’s another worry.

I know it's very easy to say 'don't worry' but that's what you should try to do and take things as they come. Don't look too far ahead as you may make yourself feel worse.

Make sure you have sufficient thyroid hormones with you and rest as often as you can.

We have to try to keep anxiety down by concentrating on anything else at present.

Thanks Shaws, what I meant was that although I am worrying about it and not looking forward to it at all, is that I have to do it for 10 days. So I can come home each evening unless something drastic happens. x

Yes, that's how to approach it i.e. look forward to going home in the evening. I don't know how I'd feel if I thought I would be under some kind of stress.
