When is your next appointment for retest?

Was your Graves antibodies tested?

The FT4 and FT3 are not too high. The increased tapazole should help.

Are you still working and or having any other stressors?

Are you living alone?

DO NOT EXERCISE. IT WILL WORSEN YOUR SYMPTOMS.

I wasn’t given a follow test date yet. I’m going to contact the doctor again next week.

What will a Graves antibody test show?

I’m not currently working but I have 3 little kids and I live in Canada. We’re still in lockdown due to the 3rd wave. So admittedly there are some prevalent stressors internally and externally.

Yes, please chase down that next test appointment.

At the start of treatment, it's important to be tested at shorter regular intervals in order to know if the tapazole is being correctly titrated. Every 3 - 4 weeks testing till levels are brought into range, then tapering to 2 months till levels stabilise and then every 4-6 months for monitoring.

The Graves antibody TRAb -

1) It will confirm you have Graves.

2) Its an indication of disease activity level. The higher it is, A) likely the more symptoms, B) the greater the likelihood of triggering symptoms in the event of physical or mental stress.

3) It should be tested if you intend to try for remission. A high level means chances of relapse will be high, so likely u should continue on the tapazole for a longer period. Tapazole taken long enough at the appropriate dose, can reduce TRAb.

Haha, ok 3 little kids, imagine that's stressful enough with everyone cooped up at home at this time. Try to carve out some time and space for yourself to rest. Destressing and sufficient rest is an important part of treating Graves.

Loss of appetite. Try eating at least something light like soups or soft foods till the tapazole has time to do its work. Once the tapazole dose is correctly titrated, it should kick in and your appetite should return.

All the best.

Hi Ling,

I really appreciate all this information. I’m tired of being exhausted and feeling unwell. I keep praying to get back to who I was prior to all of this.

Thank you Ling.

You will.Just remember that in a disease like Graves, the more you push against it and the anxiety and stress that goes along with it, the worser you're gonna feel.

Adding stress to more stress is a recipe for disaster.

Eat as well as u can and stay hydrated. It will help the healing process.

Best wishes.
