I read someone said to look up the spoons theory. Yeh this is true . Does limit the energy . Good theory . Simple but effective.

The spoons theory is used by the ME community & also the autism spectrum community. At present I am experiencing a prolonged fatigue relapse & find it very useful. At the moment I am needing two 40-60 prone sessions a day to function. One at mid morning, one at around 3.30.(snoozing,listening to catch up radio, reading)then I am in bed by 9.30pm.So frustrating after such a good period. Can't even do my home yoga routine,as it flattens me the day after the day after.
I have noticed over the years( I am now 71)that if I "overdo it"I get hit by a"flat battery"the day after the next day(DADA)& the DADADA can be worse. It can then take 2 or 3 days"On trickle charge"ie days of resting & low activity,to re-charge.I find my battery concept & slow re-charging very helpful. All I need now is a cure!
I have been listening to "1800 seconds"a podcast on BBC radio4 made by & for members of the autism community.Very enlightening discussions on daily energy & use of spoons theory.I feel less alone when listening to this.Chronic fatigue can be so isolating.
Yes I can definitely relate to over doing it , but not really over doing it on before standards. Just general normal life. But then feel rubbish and hardly move. Or turn into tin man stiff.and achy. I think I feel 90 on rubbish days and 75 on good . I'm actually 37
Yes,overdoing it these days doesn't seem to bear any relation to the energy levels of other people of my age.I even have a friend my age who takes 100 mcgs thyroxine who is robust mentally & physically.I'm more like a 90 year old too some days.
Just read your post Naomi8 and it's reminded me that my GP found that some people with an ME diagnosis recovered when taking sufficient vitamin D (D3 I think)
Glad it helped. I love the trickle charge idea! I seem to be one day working and one day (or two) not doing much. I had to chase a lamb in a six acre field that said it was sick, but it could still shift, and my legs are telling me running at my age is not a good idea. Lamb is fine now. I need 3 days off...
lol
glad 'lamb' is happy now.
in previous life i lived on land with sheep.. farmer had a sheepdog that was scared of sheep ,but happy to chase low flying jets down the valley .... so we did a lot of running after deviant sheep too... there's always one that likes to take the others a walk to where they shouldn't be.
Hope your lambs didn't get snowed on yesterday.
