For info for anyone with 23andMe helpful article with thyroid related gene markers

In responding to someone else on another post I just got lucky in finding this website below and if you want to have lots of fun you can use this website to search for many many markers all related to thyroid.

I seem to have a few markers that make me more likely to have Graves’ disease which is indeed what I suffered from first in my thyroid journey.

It also says I have a variant which means I’m slightly more inclined to producing t3. Seems not to be working clearly... ha ha

You just paste in all the numbers like this:

Into your 23andMe raw data search which can be found:

you.23andme.com/tools/data/

I forgot to go back to this post - but have now done so. Interesting!

Nothing jumps out that strongly for me.

(Of course, we have to be very careful with interpretation. Genetic analysis is in its infancy.)

Indeed. I would summarise it as something to play with rather than die a death by. Interesting but not conclusive.
