I’ll either have the runs, or be constipated for days on end, i had a colonoscopy 7 years ago - all ok, I always have bad wind (sorry) so much!! It’s like everything irritates my system, I had a celiac blood test years ago again normal. And recently I have this burning weird feeling in my lower left side it’s like a weird burning/ irritated feeling. So worried I’ve bowel cancer or something. I’ve just been referred to ENT for constant blocked nose and sinus issues so was told about 20 week wait for that. What could cause this wind and bowel issues :-(

Food allergies or intolerance?

Try an elimination diet to see if that helps. Could also be under medication for thyroid

Hi Carrie,I'm the same with alternating constipation and the runs. I haven't been formally diagnosed but I think I have IBS. The pain in the lower left side abdomen/pelvis is where the sigmoid colon is and when I am constipated, the pain is worse there. I am learning what triggers my bouts of the runs. (Like you, I'm not coeliac either.) I am dairy free so it isn't that and my thyroid levels are optimal for me.

In my constipated bouts, I have learned that foods meant to help, trigger more pain, so they don't work for me. I take Dulcoease to try and keep the stool soft (sorry everybody, to be so graphic!) and eat about 15 prunes a day.

Your problems could indeed be food allergies or intolerance like Comorbidity suggests. DK123's suggestion of trying an elimination diet is a good idea, if you haven't already tried that.

As Scrumbler says though, to put your mind at rest, only further investigations will tell.

Thank you, I’ll look into all that, yes I need to get further tests but like my dr said I’m looking at 20 week wait to be seen :-(

Try eating beetroot daily and see if that gets rid of constipation
