That’s me had my second Pfizer vaccine on Friday. I’m wondering why I haven’t had any reaction to either of the jabs. Last time I had the tiniest dark blue dot where the needle went in, but no pain at all, this time not a single thing - I can’t even see where the needle went in. . No pain in arm, no bruise, no feeling tired or ill in any way.
Considering I have several autoimmune conditions I’m kind of surprised, especially as my husband was told when he was in hospital that with the Pfizer one you got more of a reaction after the second jab whereas with the AZ vaccine a reaction was most likely to be after the first.
Does anyone have any idea why this is?

Oh sorry, did you mean why is the Pfizer second shot more aggressive than the first?
The first shot activates the immune system to identify the protein virus that causes COVID-19 & eliminate it. Due to the limited time frames, these vaccines were made the strongest possible because there wasn’t time to test the efficacy of giving less, and to induce a robust immune response guaranteed to be more long lasting adjuvants are used. The white blood cells involved in the immune response multiply over days and are ready incase the protein virus ever returns.
The second shot meets what your body has already prepared, ie antibodies, memory T cells, etc, that recognise the virus protein but this time the immune response is further enhanced by more adjuvants so a stronger reaction may be felt.
It is said that not experiencing a reaction doesn't mean you will be less protected. It is just the way your body has responded. Lucky you 😊. I'm having my second shot of Pfizer on Thursday🤞. I don't know much about the AZ vaccine.
Actually both answers are interesting. The first one makes sense because I’m 72 which is in the older category. I was just wondering how well I’ll be protected if I had no response. Everyone is different though and I suppose there is still time for a delayed response.
I’m a real injection phobic and I was amazed at the fact I didn’t feel anything either time. I figure they are using very fine needles to get the extra shot out of each physio but even then those vaccinators are fantastic. Actually the way the whole thing is organised here is amazing.
Good luck on Thursday hopefully things will go as well for you 😊
