Thyroid replacement medication & beverages

Are there any beverages that you CAN drink within the one hour before,two hours after medication time slot eg herbal tea?green tea?Or it just tea with milk & coffee that are antagonistic to the medication?

Tea and coffee without milk can affect absorption.

That would include green tea I am guessing as it has cafeine in it.Do you think herbal tea would be OK?I need a small dose of T3 in the mid afternoon but always really need a proper (assam)cup of tea,too!

No, I don't think anything other than water is okay. Why don't you take your T3 a little earlier if you have a fixed mid afternoon time you must have tea.

Its juggling between food,drink,supplements.I have resorted to taking replacement thyroid meds in the night,when I get up to go to the toilet.I'll stick to that routine,as a result of your reply!

I drink organic green tea every day, green tea should always be taken away from food. One hour each side, I take mine at 10.30am

Also anything other than water can interfere with your medication.
