I'm thinking ordering this thyroid premium platinum test from BlueHorizon,as i suffer from Hashimoto's(i'm 35 years old) i've been diagnosed in 2019,i'm on Levothyroxine(Northstar) since then,(100mg one day/75 mg the other day) ,and i haven't been tested since Covid started,so i feel very very ill with my stomach, even i gave up since 6 months to gluten, dairy, soya, eggs.
Anyway my question is that on the bluehorizon website says that if i order the "thyroid premium platinum" the kit comes as a -available as a vacutainer test only due to the volume of blood required,so you need a nurse to take the blood sample for it?
And i don't know any nurse in Bristol, where i live.
I check Boots and Superdrug for walk-in nurse to pay for a blood sample but apparently because of Covid they don't have this service anymore .
Do you know about this test?Do you recommend other companies who can offer the same kind of complex testing but easier blood samples?
Thank you very much all for your answers,as i found out since I'm on this forum,it's way much more help then any GP,so far for me personally.

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking, if any
Make sure you test early Monday or Tuesday morning and then post back via tracked postal service
Always do all thyroid testing as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
Personally I would ditch the Teva....cut 50mcg tablets in half to get 25mcg
Test after 6-8 weeks on just Accord brand
Many people find Levothyroxine brands are not interchangeable.
Many patients do NOT get on well with Teva brand of Levothyroxine. Teva contains mannitol as a filler, which seems to be possible cause of problems. Teva is the only brand that makes 75mcg tablet. So if avoiding Teva for 75mcg dose ask for 25mcg to add to 50mcg or just extra 50mcg tablets to cut in half
But for some people (usually if lactose intolerant, Teva is by far the best option)
Teva, Aristo and Glenmark are the only lactose free tablets
Most easily available (and often most easily tolerated) are Mercury Pharma or Accord
Accord is also boxed as Almus via Boots, and Northstar 50mcg and 100mcg via Lloyds ....but doesn’t make 25mcg tablets
Physicians should: 1) alert patients that preparations may be switched at the pharmacy; 2) encourage patients to ask to remain on the same preparation at every pharmacy refill; and 3) make sure patients understand the need to have their TSH retested and the potential for dosing readjusted every time their LT4 preparation is switched (18).
Levothyroxine is an extremely fussy hormone and should always be taken on an empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after
Many people take Levothyroxine soon after waking, but it may be more convenient and perhaps more effective taken at bedtime
No other medication or supplements at same as Levothyroxine, leave at least 2 hour gap.
Some like iron, calcium, magnesium, HRT, omeprazole or vitamin D should be four hours away
(Time gap doesn't apply to Vitamin D mouth spray)
If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test
If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
REMEMBER.....very important....stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results - eg vitamin B complex
If you want to do vitamins as well as thyroid then it's the Thyroid Premium GOLD test you need, it's the same as the Platinum just excludes the reverse T3 test. The Gold test can be done by fingerprick.
SlowDragon Just thought I'd mention that in case you thought the Silver test included vitamins
I'd advise against getting a finger prick test (have been known to be less reliable). The only issue with that test package is it doesn't include rT3 (reverse T3), so worth bearing in mind.
Thank you very much for your advice regarding LEVOTHYROXINE made by TEVA.
After I've suffered with very bad stomach issues ,for months and months (my GP kew about TEVA) ,and I was making all sorts of tests ,I decided to get rid off TEVA ( without GP approval) which help me a lot .
Now I feel way much better, and im still recovering after I poisoned my gut and my intestines, so I keep a clear diet.
So now all my blood tests came normally.
I wanna give you a HUGE thank you for telling me about that bad producer and I think we should make more awareness so we can help more people with similar issues .
Ps: I also recommend a book written by Anthony William-Thyroid Healing .
