Wondering what happened and why they appear to have been ignored?

Sorry Scumbler but, as the eminent scientists and professors say, "Why not?" and, "what's the harm? "

I'm inclined to believe the latest causal evidence quoted by the scientists and doctors above over NICE, whose outdated advice on vitamin B12def/PA already causes great suffering.

Almost all of those who died from Covid19 were found to be vitamin D deficient.

"Vitamin D modulates thousands of genes and many aspects of immune function, both innate and adaptive. The scientific evidence1 shows that:

● Higher vitamin D blood levels are associated with lower rates of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

● Higher D levels are associated with lower risk of a severe case (hospitalization, ICU, or death).

● Intervention studies (including RCTs) indicate that vitamin D can be a very effective treatment.

● Many papers reveal several biological mechanisms by which vitamin D influences COVID-19.

● Causal inference modelling, Hill’s criteria, the intervention studies & the biological mechanisms

indicate that vitamin D’s influence on COVID-19 is very likely causal , not just correlation.

Vitamin D is well known to be essential, but most people do not get enough. Two common definitions of inadequacy are deficiency < 20ng/ml (50nmol/L), the target of most governmental organizations, and insufficiency < 30ng/ml (75nmol/L), the target of several medical societies & experts.2 Too many people have levels below these targets. Rates of vitamin D deficiency <20ng/ml exceed 33% of the population in most of the world, and most estimates of insufficiency <30ng/ml are well over 50% (but much higher in many countries).3

Rates are even higher in winter, and several groups have notably worse deficiency: the overweight, those with dark skin (especially far from the equator), and care home residents. These same groups face increased COVID-19 risk."

Professor Roger Eseult is one of the signatories - his video gives a very clear explanation of how vitamin D works in relation to Covid19 prevention.

I don't think there's any point in relying on GP - the doses they prescribe are much too low, if you look at the amounts the signatories are taking themselves (averaging at around 4,000 iu.)

The Guardian ran an article the other day:

Vitamin D supplements may offer no Covid benefits, data suggests

Two studies fail to find evidence to support claims supplements protect against coronavirus

theguardian.com/world/2021/...

The second-last paragraph is:

Meanwhile randomised controlled trials designed to definitively answer whether vitamin D status plays a direct role in Covid infections and outcomes are ongoing. “What we lack at the moment is really a definitive trial which demonstrates a cause and effect relationship,” said Adrian Martineau, a professor of respiratory infection and immunity at Queen Mary University of London, who is leading such a study.

"Signature statistics as of Feb 6, 2021:220 total signatories :

115 professors

131 signatories with medical degrees

116 signatories with PhDs or equivalent or higher degrees

128 signatories with personal intakes of at least 4000 IU per day 29 signatories with personal intakes of at least 10,000 IU per day 33 countries."

...........

Depends on whether you choose to believe - over 200 highly professional scientists and professors above - or those with limited knowledge (newspapers?) or vested interests controlled by BigPharma and governments that dole out various lucrative contracts to their buddies.

All those highly professional scientists putting out those recommendations. And not, so far as I can see, a single mention of those who are unable to supplement with vitamin D.

If they really knew everything about vitamin D, we might have expected a mention of this issue.

Vitamin D supplementation is not safe if it makes you ill.

I don't see that argument holding up. Not everybody responds well to vaccination (severe allergies, etc.)

I consider 230 sincerely motivated doctors and professors, e.g. Prof. Roger Eseult, have given conclusive evidence.

That is why I have posted the overwhelming circumstantial evidence given above and wish to share the benefits of high dose vitamin D3 + K2 I've personally been taking for years.

As they've already stated - "why not?", especially if it saves lives......

Well, said. That's exactly what I was thinking. lol No point in arguing with you. :)

Another doctor, who has been following the research and puzzled why vitamin D is being ignored. He'd been taking 4000 iu and was still deficient:

I find the Polaris-Scrumbler argument amusing!

The bottom line is that 200, 2000 or 20000 eminent scientists and doctors will not influence the UK Government now that there is a vaccine option. How can it when the Government ignored overwhelming evidence (from studies and trials overseas) of the benefits of vitamin D for prevention and treatment of viruses including coronavirus - when there was no vaccine? If anyone wants that evidence, I have around 15-20 scientific reports (yes, including RCTs etc).! I also have a growing number of similar scientific reports on vitamin C but clearly the UK Government will ignore that expert research for the same reason.

Whilst I find this frustrating as a UK resident, it doesn't alter my approach one jot. Which is to ensure my immediate family has the higher serum vitamin D levels necessary. Stay safe!

Thank you for your insightful reply userotc and glad you feel the same about about protecting your family and loved ones 🤗

I was desperately trying to avoid using the v*c*n* word or starting a controversial post and didn't expect such controversy for posting vitamin info!

I've written to newspapers re. the above - to no avail - and agree with everything you say🤗 So much for balanced information and free speech......

Hopefully, we can ensure the information is passed on to as many as possible - in the name of free information !

What do you mean exactly ?
