Hi all, I've heard CBD oil is fantastic to reduce achy muscles and pain.
Just wondered if anyone has used it and is it ok with taking levothyroxine? At mo just take high co codemols .

If you take any supplements, I'd always leave a big gap between your thyroid hormone replacements and them. We don't want supplements to interfere with the uptake of thyroid hormones.
It's fine to take CBD oil but make sure to leave a gap of at least 2 hours between the oil and levo.
I'm unsure about levo per se but I know cbd should be taken ~3h away from other supplements due to liver effects. We learned that quite recently as our dog(!) has been on it (cbd not levo!) for >3y and we now think it may explain why her liver markers were high ~18m ago before returning to normal.
That’s interesting.
I’ve been having CBD for over a year and taken with other supplements.
Have you read anything that backs up not taking together ? Sounds clear about link between your dogs liver.

When I was recommended to take it no one said . I’ll ask.
So hard to get things right !!!
As I recall, the info came from an administrator (J Olsen) on the CBD Users Support online forum who said "for canines it’s a 3 hour time delay. For humans 2 or 4 hours" but >/=2h is also advised on other forums eg Herbal Health Pets UK and/or Canine Cognitive Dysfunction and I think CBD Brothers agreed when I spoke with them by telephone on another point. I believe it relates to liver overload, at least for things processed by CYP450 enzymes (cobocbd.com/is-it-safe-to-t....
Our experience with dog Lucy supports the above although we obviously cant be certain it was the cause We are still learning about CBD (probably limited advice due to it not being licensed for all conditions and not pharmaceutical) eg we recently switched our dog to paste from oil following advice from one of the above forums. Yes, it's a minefield!
Thanks for reply . I’ve just spoken to say
Ayurvedic company that’s very reputable who I get my CBDfrom , recommended by my practitioner. They assured me it’s ok
Always so many views !!!
Maybe different response in animals though ?
Same pathways as far as I understand. But if your liver markers have been OK, probably no problem. Forums I listed regularly stress at least 2h - maybe we are more protective with dogs? She certainly eats better than the rest of us at home! Lol
