Do you have a diagnosed thyroid condition and on thyroid replacement hormone?

The interpretation of your test results will be different depending on the answers.

Also, please provide the reference ranges, particularly for FT4, as these vary from lab to lab and we can only interpret your tests accurately when the ranges are given.

I’ve had two tests in the past which said I have a borderline under active thyroid test but haven’t been on medication. I’ve just had another blood test as i have felt like I have a lot of the symptoms and those are the results.

Need reference ranges, particularly for the FT4.

A normal healthy person would have a TSH of around 2, often around 1, with FT4 around mid-range-ish, but as ranges vary so much we cannot comment on your FT4 result without the range. Ranges we regularly see here are 7-17, 9-19, 11-23, 12-22, and others, so you can appreciate there is no way we can comment on your FT4 without the range. If that is online access to your results at your GP surgery there should be the range as well as the result I believe.

Just checked, I can’t see the ranges. Do I ask the GP for them?

Best to ask the receptionist for a print out of your results. Doctor's don't like us asking about them, and a print out is better than a verbal response as mistakes can't be made. Just say you'd like a print out of your test results and that you'll pop along at their convenience to pick it up.
