Went for routine check up, gave bloods, my GP is reducing my meds from 100mg to 75mg. I'm a bit concerned. I don't want to feel rubbish again.

Any advice would be most welcome 🌸🌸🌸🌸

Do you have those recent blood results (and lab ranges) to share?

It's important s/he isn't focused on a "too low" TSH if your actual thyroid hormones (free T4 ad free T3) aren't high enough - and if all they've tested is TSH I certainly wouldn't agree to a dose reduction

Never ever agree to dose reduction based just on TSH and Ft4

What were your most recent results

If Ft3 is not over range you are not over medicated

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third or quarter of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

I'm picking up test results tomorrow, then I will post them on this forum, and I'm having my private blood test done as soon as I can get an appointment.
