Hi, I'm am due to give bloods tomorrow morning and I think my test kit may have expired, I purchased it October 2021.
It says to use within 120 days, not sure whether to cancel my bloods appointment, any help/advice welcomed 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

They do have an expiry date on the tube which you should check before doing the test, if it's out of date it probably affects the anticoagulant so you'd have to let them know so they can send you a new one.
The 120 days is what Medichecks give you to use your test after you purchase it. Their Ts and Cs state:
The test is valid for 120 days from the date that we process your order (the "Validity Period") - see clause 7 for further information about the dispatch of the kit. If you do not send a sample to the laboratory within the Validity Period your test will expire and you will not be entitled to a refund.
So if you have gone beyond 120 days your test is no longer valid and you may have to purchase a new one at full price, or maybe contact Medichecks in the morning and perhaps they'll extend the period for an extra fee.
It should still be ok if you purchased in October, the 120 days won't expire until the end of January or beginning of February and Medichecks usually email you before it's about to expire. They have extended a test for me when I had a good reason for not having been able to do it in time. If you're worried you could phone them, they've usually been helpful.
MonitorMyHealth say 120 days, but have conformed to me it's fine to use, provided the expiry date on the tube has not passed.
It might be an idea to call your provider and just check with them.

Are you sure because that doesn't seem to be in their Ts and Cs. Medichecks definitely say 120 days but this is the reply I got from MonitorMyHealth when I contacted them about how long we had to use their tests:
On the back of each box there is an expiry date which is individual to that box and its contents. Although we do recommend that you use the kit as soon as possible you can use the kit any time up to the expiry date.
The expiry on date on the tube will be the same as the expiry date on the back of the kit. If an expired tube is ever used, when we come to centrifuge that sample it is likely that the expired serum in the tube will affect our ability to provide an accurate result. This means you must use and return all tubes before the expiry date on the back of the kit.
Our company does not have a time limit for using the kit, like our competitors, the expiry date is the rule for ours.
Wow! Thank you for bringing this up. I have a kit from Thriva and didn’t consider there would be a limit on when I could use it.I’ve just looked and it says 2022-01-31
So I’d better do it in the next 2 weeks.
I hadn’t used it because I actually had a nhs one done and obviously don’t want to waste my money doing 2 at the same time. 🤪
Thriva give you 60 days to return your sample according to their Ts and Cs:
The validity of the Kit will expire after 60 days of delivery to you, so you are required to collect and post your blood sample to the Laboratory at the address provided within that period.
But it's always worth checking the expiry date on the tube and if it expires before the 60 days then contact them for a new kit.
I could have just wasted my money then…….. 😣
You could always contact them to see if they will let you use it, they may charge an extra fee but it probably won't be as much as wasting the it completely.
