I would not be taking thyroid meds or iodine unless a blood test showed that I was low in thyroid hormones or iodine. Iodine supplementation can actually cause damage to the thyroid gland. I learned years ago that naturopaths can be very very dangerous to your health. They caused a number of health issues for me. They are all about charging you loads of money for each appointment and then making loads of money from selling you their supplements. Please do your research on iodine supplementation, and on taking thyroid hormones when you don't need it. I'm sorry to say this, but your naturopath sounds like a quack.
I agree with you about naturopaths. I went to one for a short while. He looked at my list of supplements and said I should also be taking iodine and selenium. He got me to do a patch test for iodine which according to people here is unreliable. No test for selenium. Looking back at previous tests 3 or 4 years ago both of these were fine then.
Sorry, for me it's no supplementing without testing first.
I had to go for an U/S scan as I was so unwell and it showed damage to my parotid glands indicative of Sjogrens Syndrome. My NHS endo said the Levo had caused a Sjogrens flare x
