Tried a new approach!

I ordered Mercury Pharma Eltroxin 50mcg and 100mcg from docs on Monday and as I nearly always have trouble getting the 50's I phoned Advanz manufactor customer care to find out if there was a supply problem. Thankfully no there wasn't and was told both dosages were available.

My last prescription Boots insisted they couldn't get the 50's they caught me at a low ebb so ended up buying a pill cutter but it's not ideal at all.

When I knew the tablets were available I phoned Boots and told them tablets are available via Advanz ordering through Alliance and no problem in getting them. Pleased to say got them all today! Relief!

If I wasn't in the know through this fantastic site I'm convinced I would've been fobbed off again so thank you to all who have helped me to question those who we think are helping us! When really it's all about what suppliers are cheapest and how bothered the pharmacist is in helping you.

The hoops we thyroid patients jump through! As you say, I guess it’s the money, but I honestly do wonder about false economies. Maybe it’s just me, but when I spend money on a new blender or whatever, I take my time, so my research and often don’t buy the cheapest because that way, you can end up buying it twice... and it costs more than spending a little more in the first place might have done... I wish the NHS would apply the same principle to patient care. Sorry, I’ve strayed from pharmacies to the NHS, but I thjnk the nuts and bolts are pretty similar somewhere!
