Best home thyroid test
Footello
What exactly do you want to test?
TSH, FT4 and FT3 only?
TSH, FT4, FT3, thyroid antibodies?
All of the above plus vitamins?
Depends on the test which company is better value.
My daughter is feeling really tired. Her blood tests from Doc was ok and he’s refused to refer her to an endo. Even privately. She had two miscarriages last year and I’d on the floor with exhaustion so I thought a private test would be good and I could show you guys the results and see where we go from here. Just need your advice which tests x
Also she’s ok 125 thyroxine - diagnosed 7 years ago afterbirth of first baby.
So she needs FULL thyroid and vitamin testing
Does she always get same brand of levothyroxine
TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease also called Hashimoto’s
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

Also vitamin D available as separate test via MMH
Or alternative Vitamin D NHS postal kit
What vitamin supplements is she currently taking
Important to stop taking any supplements that contain Biotin a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results
Do private test early Monday or Tuesday morning and post back via tracked 24 hour postal service
Previous posts showed low ferritin. Did she get full iron panel test for anaemia
On levothyroxine we need OPTIMAL vitamin levels
Vitamin D at least around 80nmol and around 100nmol maybe better
Folate and Ferritin at least half way through range
Serum B12 at least over 500
Active B12 at least over 70
Frequently necessary to supplement virtually continuously to maintain optimal vitamin levels
