Are there labelling restrictions / recent guidelines that prevent companies from 'encouraging' oral use of their lugol's iodine? Or are there different kinds of Lugol's solution, some which are 'food grade' and some not?

Is all Lugol's Iodine created equal? Many brands imply safe oral use but come with a disclaimer 'talisman use only'. help!
What on earth is "talisman use"? I've never heard of it.
It would appear to be a disclaimer of fairly recent coinage.
I interpret the meaning as:
If we say it is "Talisman Use Only", that means we have warned you not to take it by mouth. But we know perfectly well that you are going to take it by mouth. If you do, that's entirely your responsibility and we hope you can't sue us if it goes wrong.
(In my book, that is a very weak defence. But it probably is only even thought to be a legal ploy in the USA.)
However, I think you need to be very wary of taking any iodine at all. Very careful about dosing if you nonetheless decide to go ahead. And always remember what one person does and claims might well not apply to anyone else. (Might actually not be what they do. The number of fake reviews and claims is astonishing.)
I take lugols iodine 15% 4 drops daily with 2 drops of selenium ..
I thought many on this forum were aghast at anyone taking iodine? I take circa 350mcg/dy nascent I and have received considerable opposition to that despite the fact I'm undiagnosed, not on any meds.
