What was the lowest your body temperature went with Hashimotos? Currently my morning body temperature is so low that my partner has to check that I'm actually alive!

Whats the lowest your body temperature reached with hypothyroidism/ Hashimotos?

My lowest ever temperature (as far as I can remember) was about 34.5C / 94.1 F but that was in my 20s (which were a few decades ago now).
I know lots of people on the forum have mentioned significantly lower temperatures than that though.
Thats really low! Was that due to hypothyroidism?
Yes, I think so. But my hypothyroidism was undiagnosed and therefore untreated. I was in my 50s before I got my first prescription for Levo.
Wow that must have been tough. Do you feel that some damage was caused to your body before starting meds due to longterm untreated hypothyroidism?
Definitely. But, sadly, I can't turn back the clock, and I've repaired what I can. I also have other health problems that were generally disbelieved in too, and there is nothing I can do to reduce those effects other than to maintain my nutrient levels and to keep to a healthy diet. I can cope with the need to supplement, but I struggle to keep to the diet I consider to be healthiest for me.
I hear ya! I'm in a similar situation with a number of health issues that were dismissed as "in my head" by a number of doctors and im left to deal with the after effects. I wonder if we have similar health issue/ symptoms as I've seen a lot of people appear to have some other issues going on as well as acid/GERD and hiatal hernias etc. Do you have Hashimotos by any chance?
I am not sure if I have Hashi's to be honest. I've never had a positive TPO Antibody test but I did have a very slightly over the range Tg Antibody test once. Top of range was 115, my result was 124. Apart from that one single positive result for TgAb, all my antibody testing has been negative.
What I have is a pituitary that is squashed and the stalk it is on is stretched. So, I assume I have some degree of central hypothyroidism. My TSH has never reached 6, although it has got fairly close.
I've seen people reporting levels of Free T4 and Free T3 that were similar to mine before I started taking thyroid hormones for the first time, and those people had a TSH anywhere up to 30.
That must be so scary to deal with. When I was initially diagnosed with Hashimotos my antibodies were over 1000! And my temperature was under 35. You should get a full thyroid test done via medichecks in the UK. It will reveal so much more information than you doctors tests.
I've been doing private testing and treating my hypothyroidism for several years. If I have Hashi's I'm just on the edge of meeting the diagnostic criteria. My results aren't clear cut. I no longer test my antibodies unless it is offered with a test package I want to do for other reasons. I wouldn't spend money to test them any more - I don't really see the point.
I forgot to say, on the subject of temperature...
My morning temperature varied a lot more when I had a menstrual cycle. Now that I've been past menopause for years my temperature never gets as low as it used to. I now tend to have a morning temperature around 96.4 - 97.2 F.
95.2 F !
Thats very similar to my current morning temp! How do you survive? I feel like I've hypothermia when I first get out of bed. I use a hot water bottle, layers of thermal clothes etc and I'm still cold. And each night at approx 7pm im sweating!
35.5 consistently

Do remember that how you measure your temperature can make a difference. Under arm, for example, being lower than oral. As well as technique and type of thermometer!
I use a digital thermometer on my forehead. Do you think this is accurate enough or should I be using a Mercury type one?
Forehead thermometers are extremely susceptible to things like having a walk outside in cool weather.
You seem aware the true mercury thermometers are no longer legal to be sold. I have no experience of the Geratherm Gallium-based ones. From what I have read, they appear to be quite accurate but can be difficult to shake down.
35 armpit temperature
94.5 the other day when I went to get labs done and my temp was tested. Yikes. Am I alive?
This morning it's 35.3! That's after getting out of bed straight into a cosy dressing gown.
It's usually around 35° I think.

Has your doctor anything to comment on why its so low?
To chime in, my doctors have never said a word!! My current doctor- a functional medicine dr- has only seen me by video call and hasn’t asked about temp. But my other doctors never seem to comment, even the ones who I was going to see complaining of obviously hypo symptoms. The only time I recall anything similar about this was when a nurse asked me- before I started to really pack on the pounds- if I was a trained athlete bc my heart rate was so slow. Ha.
no, she doesn't care. I don't have a great relationship with her, unfortunatley.

Like most of us! Most doctors don't seem able to think outside the box. Ive had to take charge of my own health condition for the most part.
Out of curiosity I just took my temperature again, after being sat in my warm office all day in a fleece. 35.5!
I've mostly given up on my GP. I do my own blood tests through Thriva and get all my information from here really.

Surely a doctor would see that a low temperature given the circumstances (warm office and fleece) would at least raise an eyebrow!
