Having a young, fit & healthy friend who has had to learn to walk again after having COVID in Spring & who is still struggling with fatigue & muscle weakness 8 months later, I would definitely have the vaccine.

Yes I will definitely have the vaccine (I have Hashimotos). There is info here on that instagram.com/tv/CIqkj4-BEm...

My brother is immunosupressed and the vaccine is suitable for him - he cannot wait to have it - and for other people to have it to further protect him.

Yes. Without hesitation.

Very likely, by the time I might get offered it it should be clear if there are any safety issues to be concerned about. A close relative had it, symptoms were horrendous and they were lucky to survive. It caused permanent high blood pressure. It is not a bug I’m keen to get familiar with.

This is a very personal decision but for me, a no brainer.

I spend more time than one should, thinking about my ultimate demise due to my work. It seems to me that this is only marginally better than being seen off by ebola. I do not want to be intubated and without my DH and family at my end.

Yes, in a heartbeat.

Absolutely yes. I just fear it’s going to take a long time for the vaccine to be given to folk like me...

Yes I would definitely have it, spoke to my nephew who is a doctor of science and he said good you should have it by the spring.

I'm still firmly 'on the fence.

I will continue to employ 'watchful waiting' and washing my hand's a lot for the time being.

But i am in no doubt that this virus is something not to be taken lightly, someone i know has died from a heart attack within a week of getting covid, he was apparently fit and healthy, and under 55

But i do know that many cases are mild, many are asymptomatic , and i personally believe that the best way to get the immune system to provide long lasting protection from future contact with a disease is to allow it to do it's own thing fully the first time it meets it.

I'm in no hurry to get off the fence.

How do you feel about Tetanus, or Polio?

No I would not have it. I already have a rare neurological condition that I also think is linked to autoimmunity disorder and I have Hashimoto's. I have done a lot of research on the new style of vax's and do not want anything that could in any remote way influence my own dna or my genomes or that has been developed using aborted fetal cells or chimpanzee dna (I am a Christian and that influences ALL my decisions). I think I am low risk to myself and to others as I already had the virus right at the beginning of the year late Feb and had all the known symptoms moderately, including the persistent dry cough and loss of taste and smell, I recovered in 3 weeks by using natural remedies which have a good track record as working well for me and also I had just returned from spending a month in the Sun so was topped up with Vitamin D, which has a known beneficial & protective influence against respiratory disease. I Do not go out now and do not have visitors so I do not frequent any of the places that would be deemed to propose high risk to me or others and happy to remain that way, I even shop online to avoid going out as much as possible because I hate wearing the mask and I hate standing on spots and queuing ,which is almost impossible for any length of time because of orthostatic tremor that I suffer with ,therefore, I will take my chances of recovering again with my natural immunity should I be unfortunate enough to get it again. I am not an anti vaxxer having had more than my share when younger and when travelling to exotic Countries but there is no known cause of my neurological condition and no known cure for it . so who knows what triggered it and I don't want to add to any overload on my immune system that could cause even more damage. I just advise everyone to do their own research and make threr oe=wn informed choice based on their personal health and lifestyle.

Yes thank you for sharing , however, I am not Catholic and therefore am not led by the guidance of the Pope. If you are there are alternative arguments made by Catholic Bishops who do not agree with the Pope that you may find it interesting, so I share link to the site where you can watch the video's or read the articles.

There is just so much that isn't know about these vaccines. My mother died from an autoimmune reaction to her first ever flu vaccine shot. It ended up settling in her heart and she died less then 2 month later. She was a retired nurse and begged me to never have a flu vaccine. I am 71 and have never had one and have never had the flu. Of course, she never could have imagined Covid 19, even though she was a young child during the flu pandemic of the early 1900's. I totally understand everyone is anxious to be rid of covid 19. I want it gone also, but what we don't know about this vaccine is more then we do know! I am in the U S, in fact in Michigan, 50 miles from the Pfizer plant. I watched as the trucks under U S Marshall escort, left the plant, to be delivered to their destinations and the first individuals that will get the vaccine here in the U S. As I watched, I prayed that this is the answer everyone is hoping for.

Nope if I don't have to and I had it pretty badly in April.

And my hunch is it will not just be the one vaccine. Big pharma will be churning out updated vaccines for every forth coming corona mutation mild or not.

Hubby and I downloaded a very polite letter to send to our GP - raising a few questions and requesting prophylactic treatment. We are awaiting a reply.

I have just seen this post on mumsnet.

I'm a hospital pharmacist, have Hashimoto's on levothyroxine and liothyronine and got my first dose of the vaccine without any issues last week. If I was asked in work to advise on cautions or contraindications for this vaccine I would consult the Summary of medical Product Characteristics (SmPC) linked here

I've checked and no known issues with levothyoxine or those with thyroid disease.

Can I ask how do you know when you need T3, I saw a Consultant a few months ago and she didn’t give me a clear answer!

By getting FULL thyroid and vitamin testing

Looking at previous posts are you still taking NDT

Do you have Hashimoto’s

Are you on strictly gluten free diet

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

If/when also on T3, or NDT make sure to take last third or quarter of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

List of private testing options

Medichecks Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins

medichecks.com/products/adv...

Thriva Thyroid plus antibodies and vitamins By DIY fingerpick test

Thriva also offer just vitamin testing

Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold includes antibodies, cortisol and vitamins by DIY fingerprick test

bluehorizonbloodtests.co.uk...

If you can get GP to test vitamins and antibodies then cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

thyroiduk.org/getting-a-dia...

monitormyhealth.org.uk/

Also vitamin D available as separate test via MMH

Or alternative Vitamin D NHS postal kit

I am still on the fence too. Just very wary of all the unknowns. If you have high antibodies will your system over react to the vaccine? But then it overreact to the virus itself, if there is some evidence that the vaccine can cause thryotoxicosis (still being studied I believe) then might that reaction be worse in those with an existing thyroid condition? I had none of the childhood vaccines (in 1960s) as I had convulsions & the doctors said I shouldn’t, but had plenty of vaccines in adulthood for travel, but I don’t have the flu vaccine.

I know how awful this virus can be as know people who are suffering months after having it but am yet to make up my mind about the vaccine.
