I do workouts at home with ‘ Pahla B’ she’s an American who has put lots of free workouts on you tube and Pinterest. They are all for women over 50. I collected a lot of her workouts on Pinterest but could never decide which workout to choose. Then I signed up (again, for free) to her email which provides a week’s worth of workouts every Sunday. You choose 7 days of weight loss workouts or 7 days body shaping and toning, but I think she makes sure each list has a mix of workouts. Main thing is, she knows a lot about exercise, always includes ‘recovery days’ and is firm about not overdoing it. Lots of her workouts are also low impact, or no squats, and there’s lots of variety in intensity, with or without weights.Of course, there are lots of videos by other people, too.
Hi Bearo, I hope you are safe. Thank you for replying. I will sign up with Phala B and give it a go. I have a clot in my leg, its so painful and very debilitating . This Thyroid disease is horrendous, I'm so symptomatic and feel wretched. I'm addicted to the gym, but not allowed to go due to the clot.I am really struggling with not being able to loose weight, and that's why I have been training every day for 4 hours. I'm not use to being overweight, plus I enjoy the gym.
But I now realise that from chatting with other people on here { which I'm eternally grateful for, and have learnt so much more from all of you guys struggling with this awful Disease} that I am slogging a dead HORSE. 🐎
As you take T3 it is essential that FT3 is tested, otherwise you cannot possibly know if you are taking the appropriate amount to be optimally medicated. Assuming that your T3 is prescribed, your doctor should know this and test your FT3 every time you have a thyroid function test.
As mentioned above low T3 makes weight loss difficult.
When on combination hormone replacement, it's usual to see a low or suppressed TSH (and yours is), usually FT4 is lowish in range (yours is 75.45% though range) and FT3 in the upper part of its range.
You really need FT3 testing at the same time as TSH and FT4. Do you know if this has been included in your latest test?
My endo always checks T3, T4 and TSH, which I will hopefully have tomorrow. For some reason the T3 doesn't appear on my Hospital results, although she does test T3 every time I have a blood test. When I saw her in February 2020, she told me my T3 was a little high.
I wanted to stay on my current dose of 10mg T3 once a day, because of my ranges fluctuating.
I am 62 years old. I exercise too much. I go to the gym everyday for 4 hours a day, as I'm obsessed with it , but still struggling with weight.
On levothyroxine and T3 we need to PACE OURSELVES CAREFULLY
Highly likely you are making your levels worse
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely likely
Previous post shows you are one PPI - this leads to low vitamin levels
Ask GP to test vitamin levels
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third or quarter of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
Hi SlowDragon, I hope you are safe. Thankyou for replying, Yes I thought maybe I was over doing the training, I will ease off, Its just I hate the weight issue and am struggling with it all.
