Just very nervous about tomorrow's appointment. 2 years ago was told i had periductal mastitis. My current symptoms are very visible heavy swelling and pain on left breast and red spots under the breast and odd itching for 12-14 weeks. I did ask my gp about the periductal mastitis and she said she did not think it was and did not think this was caused by levothyroxine either but referred me as urgent to breast clinic and got a call back on friday asking me to come in on Monday to the hospital and to be prepared for long day.
Please would really appreciate your replies. I am very nervous

It is only natural to be nervous and it is very easy for someone to say 'don't be nervous' but it is perfectly normal to be so as we are unsure what the diagnosis will be.
However, try to be calm and not worry as many women develop problems with the breasts which can be easily resolved when the proper diagnosis and investigation is made.
According to my book on breasts: “Pain is unlikely to mean cancer: Very few breast cancers cause pain, and breast cancer is an uncommon cause of pain.” I hope this holds true for you, I too know how nerve racking it can all be. According to this book “Your physician will want to know when (time of day, time of month, etc.) you have pain, what makes the pain worse, how long you have had pain & where the pain is located.”
Again I sincerely hope Dr. William H. Goodson III, in “It’s Your Body ... Ask” is correct on pain. Best of luck to you.
I had mastitis a few years ago too, so I know how you feel.
My symptoms were dreadful pain and tenderness, swelling, inflammation ie bright red and covered in what looked like red dots and really hot to the touch.
My GP put me on a strong course of antibiotics and referred me to the breast clinic who did a mammagram and ultrasound.
I was told my condition was unusual in non lactating females but does sometimes happen with thyroid problems.
After the 2 week course of antibiotics the pain and swelling reduced and the mammagram and ultrasound showed nothing cancerous.
I have since had the beginning of reoccurrence of mastitis symptoms a couple of times. Now I know what that feels like, I go straight to the GP who puts me on the strong antibiotics again to nip it in the bud.
I know it's natural to worry and be scared but please be reassured that what you are experiencing could be easily treated like mine was and at least they are looking into it quickly.
My brand of Levothyroxine was changed to Teva in 2018 I had pain and swelling in my left breast for months had to refer myself for a mammogram Teva is stronger than the one I was on and contained mannitol.
The doc did an examination and looked into my history of having periductal mastitis and said sometimes after the mastitis is recovered one might get pain and hardness. The next step is for a scan and he said im sure it wont be anything but to be on safe side. So now i have to wait for this scan appointment.
P-S: upon examination my breast seemed to have balooned up now it has become really painful and hard.
