Hi there - yes I do - it saved my life - what would you like to know about it. How much are you taking and why would be good to know if you don't mind me asking.

I had a 6 days course for a rash and can't believe how good I feel. Best in 8 years. Now will have to try to convince my doc to use it. The daily dose etc will have to be explain why and dosage of what I want.

Please be very cautious of using any steroids for any length of time, it might seem like a miracle drug - which it can be in short courses, but in long term use you risk stopping your adrenal glands from working. The result of them stopping producing your own cortisol (steroids) is that you then become steroid dependent, this is a life threatening condition. My adrenal glands don't work due to removal of a pituitary tumour, so they stopped producing cortisol. I need to take steroids several times during the day, I have to carry an emergency injection of Hydrocortisone in case I am in an accident, I also have to wear a medic alert bracelet to let the emergency services know I need an injection of steroids. Basically if i don't take the steroids I will die!

Thanks so much. Would it also apply to 4 mg. per day as physiological dose is 35 to 40 per day.?

Yes, the adrenal glands get lazy as there is another source of steroids so they go to sleep & stop producing cortisol. 4mgs of Pred is equivalent to 20mgs of Hydrocortisone which is the average replacement dose for adrenal insufficiency. Plus Pred weakens the bones more than Hydrocortisone so you would end up with osteoporosis as well. :(

Me too exactly the same - steroids made my life better but at what cost to daily life.
