I did tell her to take the test 1st thing but alas 🤷‍♀️ She did it 1.30pm but did stop all supplements a week prior...

She doesn’t take any medication, is just tired and never feels refreshed, odd palpitation and breathless climbing stairs at work, she says her hair has always fallen out in the shower...

FT4 7% through range

FT3 27% through range

I have just suggested she keeps an eye on it and how she feels and re test if symptoms accrue but I’m no expert so would be interested in any other thoughts

Many Thanks 🙏 😊

With FT4 being low it would normally cause a raised TSH. Could it be a Pituitary issue and Central Hypothyroidism ?

Vits and minerals tested seem fine !

Yes I told her to supplement so she had been sorting her vits via her friend whose a functional health practitioner.

So with those results would a Dr do anything or should she perhaps re test in 6-12 months?

From reading here on the Forum it appears Doctors know very little about Central Hypo. Re-testing in the future may reveal different results if done early and fasting. Also to stop any Vits containing Biotin for a week.

Thanks..., she’s going to monitor how she feels and re test in 6 months or so.

Make sure she does test as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water

Stop taking any supplements that contain biotin a WEEK before ALL BLOOD TESTS

Borderline. It will more than likely progress from here. Her tsh would have been higher if tested earlier.

Maybe your cousin isn't aware that the TSH is highest early a.m. and drops throughout the day and may prevent us being diagnosed or having an increase in hormones.

She didn't listen to your advice but may be unaware that the TSH fluctuates.

Not what you're looking for?
