I would like to assess my adrenal function, but I'm confused as to whether to have a blood test or Saliva test.
I've seen a few posts on here where they have had both done and the results are quite variable.
Thanks

I have done the 3 point saliva test and it was very effective!! I did the saliva test as everything I had read said the the blood test is not a good indicator and doesn't give an accurate reading. Hope this is helpful
I did the Medichecks saliva test which was four different times of day, early morning, 12.00 O'clock, 4 O'clock and bed time. It was on special offer in August and included a piece from a doctor.
Blood taken as a blood draw is much more accurate than saliva but not finger prick testing, it needs to be done between 8-9am as that is when cortisol is at it;s highest level in the body. Saliva can be useful although doctors won't usually accept the results.
Thank you. Shame about the finger prick testing. I think I might get the Regenerus saliva to start with then, and if that brings anything up I'll look into a venous test.
Are you taking any Biotin, as this must be stopped at least 7 days before any blood tests as they give a false high. Biotin is sometimes found in multivitamins for "mature" people.

Recommended on here to only do saliva test that includes DHEA too
Regenerus or Geneva
