Well the day is finally here, I'm finally seeing an Endocrinologist...after feeling ghastly since December last year. I almost feel a fraud currently as I've had more good days than bad just lately. I'm worried about coming across as a hypochondriac with all of the random symptoms I've experienced and still have.. I really hope he takes me seriously.

Make a list of all the things you want to ask/say because you’re sure to forget and don’t be intimidated 😊

Agree with Gingernut44 plus ...

Assume you have recent blood results and are under-medicated. Work out how far through free T4 range and free T3 range you are and have the figures to hand. Many of us feel well only when these are in the top third of range and TSH is 1 or less.

If you generally don't feel great and haven't had full blood testing - ie TSH, free T4, free T3, thyroid antibodies (unless these have already been tested as high) AND key nutrients - ferritin folate, vit D and B12 - tell him/her these are the tests recommended by Thyroid UK [I got my endo to do the lot last week when I mentioned this]

And if you tend not to be taken seriously by your GP, if you can have a partner/friend (ideally a MAN) with you and do the call on speaker, you may find a better attitude! Can also be helpful for that person to say how you're still not as well as they've seen you in the past.

Good luck - pl let us know how you get on x
