Thryro-Gold

it has finally arrived. I have been wanting to try this for so long, but couldn’t afford it. I’m so excited to try it, after being so unwell on Levothyroxine for so many years. I’m actually nervous now! Who else has switched over to it, and most importantly, how are you doing on it.

I’m guessing I just replacement the levothyroxine 175mcg dose for I capsule of Thyro-Gold each day to start with? Any advice you can offer would be very much appreciated.

Im under the impression that the exact amount of T4 and T3 is not known and is variable

I did well on it some years ago for quite a while but when I tried to up the dose I thought I needed, I got incredibly itchy, it really was so bad I couldn't function. In those days I didn't know much about self testing the results in my bloods myself. Sorry I don't know how much you should take.

Oh goodness. Did you return to taking levothyroxine?

I feel really well. It took a little while for the good effects to kick in but I have no regrets.

Did you swap over straight away from Levothyroxine to Thyro-Gold as the suggest on their website?

So pleased it has helped you. Did you stop taking levothyroxine one day and start thyro-gold the next day as suggested on the website?

I see you have been given some good advice by others. I had already been taking some T3 as well as levothyroxine so not so much of a shock to the system when I started the Thyrogold, not that T3 ever gave me any adverse effects. As far as I remember I started and changed straight away.

I wish you all the best. This wretched hypothyroidism wastes our lives.

I don´t think you should go off levo completely right away, but build up Thyro Gold slowly because of the T3. Plus, since it´s a supplement, you have no way of knowing how much T3 you´ll be getting...When I added T3, I lowered levo by 50 mcg and added 6.25 mcg of T3. Since we don´t know how much T3 there is in Thyro Gold, I´d suggest you lower levo to 150 mcg daily and add half a capsule of 150 mg of Thyro Gold (it should be possible to open the capsules and empty them). If you don´t get any adverse affects, you could increase to one 150 mg capusle after about two weeks, while decreasing levo by another 25 mcg, and so on until you´ve come off levo.

Getting too much T3 could cause unpleasant side effects such as racing heart, nervousness, sweating and insomnia. Even if you are impatient to get better, it´s always recommended to add T3 slowly, while slowly decreasing levo.

Best of luck and let us know how you get on, it could be interesting for many members!

Thanks lovely. The thyroid-gold website suggest swapping levothyroxine for thyro-gold completely from the beginning, but of course I’m nervous to do that. To be honest I can’t feel much worse than I do already.

No-one here can say what dose you should start on. The vendor is probably the most knowledgeable person with respect to how the ingredients of their product work. If I were you, I would thoroughly read around the whole of the vendors website first. Following that, I would use the contact email address given to ask for help with dosing, and not start the transition until you are fully aware and sure of what you are doing. tammy@naturalthyroidsolutions.com

Thank you. I did message Tammy a couple of times, but have never received a reply to my emails.

Oh dear, that's not good :( However, if you were contacting her before you purchased, she may not have felt any obligation to respond. I imagine she is permanently inundated with emails! Now that you have purchased though, maybe try once more, making clear reference to the fact you have received the product (give order details) and desperately need her help.

I have just emailed her again. Thank you so much

Thank you for recommending I email Tammy again. She has replied suggesting I reduce the Levothyroxine over a period of weeks as I add the TG. I feel less worried now.

That's good to hear, hope you have a smooth transition and are soon feeling so much better :)

Hi, have you seen saxeram.comunidades.net/thy... website? This gives a very useful summary of the T3 and T4 dosages in Thyro Gold tablets and some sample calculations on coversions. Be aware though that the T3 to T4 ratio used here is x4, (this ratio can vary in different web sites...a ration of 4.5 : 1 is perhaps more common?)

Hope this helps in assesing initial dosages? Incidentally, I've not (yet) tried Thyro-gold but am awaiting receipt of my first order...

Thank you. I will take a look. I received an email from Tammy explaining the best way to change over, so Im following her advice. Wishing you all the very best with TG.

Hi, I hope it goes well for you. I have previously done well on porcine ndt which is now almost impossible to get hold of. I looked into Thyro Gold but the dose I need came to nearly £200 for three months before paying VAT on it coming into the UK. I was advised by Tammy that VAT would be charged . Can you please confirm?

Take care

I just purchased three pots of 150mg for $154 (which is roughly £119) including shipping, which is a killer at $40!! Additionally I had a customs charge of £28 when my parcel arrived in the country.

Thanks for that, I need two packs of the combo with postage and customs adding VAT it comes to £218. On advice from Tammy I will need a minimum of 450 a day and possibly 600 plus. We are looking at a hefty sum. Good luck
