Thank you for all your help recently it is very much appreciated, as advised I have attached my Medichecks results which I received today.
I'm a little confused now as I think I need to reduce my Levothyroxine currently taking 75mcg, I still feel tired etc but think this now may have something to do with a high Ferritin level π€
They also suggest I have Hashi's so not sure if I should be taking something or doing something different, I'd just about got my head around being borderline so I now feel like I'm back at square one π
I would stay on the same dose. Your Ft3 will lower if you reduce levo. Some need ft4 at top of range just to get enough Ft3 because their body doesn't process the hormone properly.
The antibody results show you have hashis. It is the most common cause of hypo. You need to read up on it so you know what to expect as you can have flare ups which you need to understand.
Thank you for your reply, I will read up on Hashi's, I'd only concentrated on reading about subclinical hypothyroidism up to now, it's such a lot to get your head around but I understand you have to help yourself to get the best chance of feeling well.
This forum is a wealth of information I'm so glad I found it π
Do you know why your ferritin is so high? Have you had a blood test from your GP? You could request it and he would then give you advice on your high ferritin.
My ferritin can be about that level and different tests come up with different ranges. In NHS test I am only slightly over range. It is a concern if it reaches 1000 and could indicate haemachromatosis but mine stays fairly steady so if I were YorkshireLass1964 I wouldn't be too concerned. (from another yorkshire lass LOL)
Thank you for your reply, yes I've had the same test at the doctors this week and that result is also high at 367, no doubt they will be in touch next week to arrange a telephone appointment to discuss my results x
