Nightmare night

Hi everyone survived a nightmare night. 5 weeks since i increased my liquid dose to 75mg. Sweating, blood pressure up and heart beating so fast i thought it would pop out of my chest. Been feeling really off for about a week prior. My thinking is over medicated as i was once like this 5 years ago and that"s what it was. Gp refused to take bloods as i only had them done in July. I know you can have similar with under medicated but wondering as it is liquid i take i maybe need less? anyone have any answers as i do not want another night like last night, thanks x

There are various problems that I know of that can cause the issue you had. I'm not suggesting this list is complete. In no particular order...

1) Thyroid hormones which are too low or too high, particularly Free T3.

2) Low iron and/or ferritin (iron stores).

3) Cortisol levels which are too high or too low.

4) Going through a "hyper swing" because of Hashi's.

5) High blood sugar.

6) Low vitamin B12 and/or folate.

Gosh really. A lot to consider then. May have to get private bloods done. Dont think its hashi as I have always had negative antibodies. Could be t3 and iron etc. I will do private bloods thank you

Actually just wondering if the menapause alters the amount of levo you require ?

I don't know, sorry. I don't recall it being mentioned before - but then my memory sucks. It might be worth creating a new post just to ask that question, because it would be of interest to lots of members.

2 months ago your vitamins were TERRIBLE ...almost certainly as a direct result of being extremely under medicated

You said you were supplementing B12 but didn’t say what you were taking?

Did GP do full testing for Pernicious Anaemia?

Low ferritin

Eating iron rich foods like liver or liver pate once a week plus other red meat, pumpkin seeds and dark chocolate, plus daily orange juice or other vitamin C rich drink can help improve iron absorption

This is interesting because I have noticed that many patients with Hashimoto’s disease and hypothyroidism, start to feel worse when their ferritin drops below 80 and usually there is hair loss when it drops below 50.
