Advice for doctors appointment please.

Hello, the doctor wants to discuss my results tomorrow, as you can see my Serum TSH levels have come right down since my dose was increased from 50 to 75mcg in May this year, I'm concerned that he may wish to reduce me back down to 50mcg even though I still haven't felt a significant improvement in my symptoms, any advice on how to mitigate keeping me on a least the 75mcg dose would be appreciated. I have ordered a Medichecks kit to test thyroid and vitamins as advised on this forum, my sister will draw my bloods next week early morning before medication and food.

Serum TSH Levels are in the picture.

Serum Free T4 levels are:

4th May 2020 - 18.2 pmol/L (9.0 - 22.00 pmol/L)

8th Jan 2020 - 20.3 pmol/L (9.00 - 22.00 pmol/L)

23rd Aug 2019 - 17.3 pmol/L (9.00 - 22.00 pmol/ L)

5th Jun 2019 - 15.7 pmol/L (9.00 - 22.00 pmol/L)

7th Jul 2016 - 14.6 pmol/ (10.00 - 22.00 pmol/L)

Do these results appear ok and might it be vitamin related that I still feel rubbish?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you x

TSH is within range (just)

Refuse to reduce dose based just on TSH and Ft4

Perhaps tell GP you are getting FULL thyroid testing including Ft3, antibodies and vitamins

If Ft3 is not over range you aren’t over treated

Hi SlowDragon,

Thank you for replying, I will let the doctor know I have bought a private test if he does want to reduce my dose, I will ask for him not to reduce med until i have the results back, wish me luck 😬

Many thanks x

Presumably your sister is qualified to do blood draw for you?

in reply toSlowDragon

Yes she is a nurse and draws blood on a daily basis x

Very handy

Hi Scrumbler,

Thank you for replying , never had FT3 levels tested, from the posts on here I gathered going private was the best option as it appears getting this test from your doctor is impossible, ive bought a Medichecks kit which included the FT3 test, I will post my results once I get them back for further advice.

Many thanks.
