Hi
I am curious to learn the good experiences of people who take Levothyroxine; is there actually anybody who does well?
Thanks in advance.

I understand that around 80%+ of hypos on levo only are happy - but whether it's because they only ever get TSH tested, are told they're "in range" and don't know they could feel even better, or really are tip-top I don't know
This forum naturally attracts the "other" 20%, so it can feel that everyone needs T3 or NDT or is having a completely hideous time on levo. That is certainly not representative of everyone - but if it's representative of YOU, you need to do something about it.
FWIW I was absolutely fine on levo-only for well over 10 years. Then it stopped working properly for me and I'm now completely fine on combination therapy. So feeling absolutely as you did before you'd ever even wondered what a thyroid was - is certainly possible x
Hi
Thanks for you reply; are you on levo and lio orNDT?
I'm on levo and lio - and lucky: I get it on the NHS
Is that a recent prescription? How long have you been on it? What is the ration of levo to lio?
I've got some info on my profile page - but I'm currently on 10 mcg of lio [dropped from 20 mcg earlier this year] and 75 mcg of levo [up from 50 mcg] The ratio is very much a personal thing - there's no set amount of either
Next endo appointment is early Oct - it's always a worry that they'll stop it with no warning, but I'm crossing fingers x
7 of my friends do very well on levo only. 2 of them even forget to take it occasionally and they take it with breakfast. I am the odd one out!
What is your medication Lalatoot?
Combo levo and t3
Are you self medicating on your T3?
No I get it on the NHS.
That is great! I orginally got NDT from endo on NHS, then got dropped! My GP said endo should not have done this. I have ended up self medicating on NDT.
However, I am one of the folks who are on Nature Throid. I had an email from the Pharmacist telling me about the recall and to send back the medication I have for a refund.
I am now having to go back on Levothyroxine due to Armour being three times more in cost that NT!
I am going to see how it goes...again! But I am ready to add T3 if needed by self medicating with it.
Thanks for your replies. x
