Endocrinologist recommendations

Hello,

Would anyone be able to recommend an endocrinologist in the Cardiff area? HRT is making me feel very strange on top of the 100mg of levothyroxine. I’ve decided to see an expert!

Cant help you with the name of an endo in your area. You could ask thyroid uk for a list of thyroid friendly doctors.

HRT maybe alteraing the balance of the endocrine curcuit -thyroid, adrenals, ovaries -they are all interlinked so altering one part of the circuit will affect the another parts. So it is indeed possible that your hrt is having a knock on effect on your thyroid treatment. You may need a lower dose of thyroid hormones OR HRT. Complex area and finding a specialist isnt easy. Many endocrinologists are experts in diabetes not this so you will need to be very picky!

Depending on what you mean by "strange", maybe it's the HRT and a different on might suit better.
