Hi Sarah. Do you have reference ranges for these results, please? - These vary from lab to lab so we need them to see where you are in your specific lab ranges. Also have you had key nutrients tested - ferritin, folate, vit D and B12?
Have you had thyroid antibodies tested? Hashi's is the biggest single cause of hypothyroidism - and a big reason why blood results and how we feel can change sharply.
Have you recently had brand change in levothyroxine?
Heavy blood loss will cause low ferritin levels
We need optimal vitamin levels
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially on just levothyroxine after thyroidectomy
Ask GP to test vitamin levels if not been tested recently
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
How old are you? Also are you taking any birth control etc. I have just read your profile and you are 40 so you could be perimenopausal which can go on for years and affect your periods.
