When Levo is increased is it normal to get headaches and if so do they last and are they consistent or intermittent?

Headaches are listed on the patient information leaftlet as a possible side effect of Levo.

As you've had an increase, are you still taking the same brand of Levo?

I was increased from 25 to 50 around ten days ago. I have just finished my normal brand of Mercury, if which I took two 25mcg. I’ve just opened my new pack and note that they are Teva. Not sure how I will be on them as i won’t take my next one until tomorrow morning. It may be something and nothing but I feel as if I’ve had a headache for a while now.

Teva does cause problems for some people, but some do get on well with it. So saying, other brands cause problems for some people too, so it's one of those things you have to try and see if you are OK with it.

As you were still taking the same brand when increased, if that's when the headaches started it's probably not a side effect of the brand but the increase in dose has caused it. Maybe increasing in smaller increments is the answer, eg from 25 to 37.5mcg so 12.5mcg increments. Some people do need to take it more slowly than others as they are very sensitive to changes.

You may be right, I’m not the best with meds. On the other hand it could be a pollen issue, I’m going through a process of elimination as my ear has started to ache slightly this morning and I was wondering if it was a progression and to do with the headaches or maybe something else. Oh to feel normal again, will that ever happen?? 😕

I’ve only been on Levo now for four months and I’ve already been given three different types! I started on Mercury, then Wockhardt UK, now Tevo. I’m certainly doing the rounds.

Yes that’s an idea, my problem is I’m so desperate to get my TSH down and optimal with everything else now after being left so long (two years since RAI) It may be anxiety also because I was getting my self prepared for my next telephone appointment with the endo which should have been in September, only to be out back to November now!! I’m raging 😤
