See GP and ask for thyroid and vitamin testing

List of hypothyroid symptoms

thyroiduk.org/signs-symptom...

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies

Ask GP to test vitamin levels

Low iron or ferritin can cause breathlessness

Heavy periods can lead to low iron

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins

I have been suffering this for 6 years.

Presumably in those 6 years you have discussed your symptoms with your GP? What investigations has your GP done? Has your GP come up with any kind of diagnosis for these symptoms?

shortness of breath and aching left chest and arms

Those symptoms would usually result in lung and heart tests. With shortness of breath I was referred to hospital for full lung fuction tests and stress echo test in Respiratory/Cardiology department to see if it was lungs or heart causing it.
