Hysterectomy, HRT and Hashi’s- Help, please??

Hi all, hope everyone is keeping safe and are as well as can be!?

6 weeks ago yesterday I had a hysterectomy, the op itself went well but my body did not play nice when I went to recovery!! Twice I almost ended up in intensive care!

Anyway, afterwards I started getting quite bad menopausal symptoms especially the hot flushes! Trust me when you can’t control your own body temperature at the best of times, they really are a bitch!!

I wasn’t put on HRT as soon as I came out of my op because I had an endometrial cyst and I have (had) stage 4 endometriosis. My GP could see I wasn’t coping though so last week she prescribed me the HRT patch Estradot which is an estradiol only patch.

My question if anyone could possibly shed some light on it, does this patch affect my thyroid meds- I’m on 75mcg of Levo and 20mg of Lio (T3).

I am so symptomatic though, I am falling asleep constantly- even writing this! I have no strength in my arms, I’m dropping things all the time. Irritable, palpitations. Tingling in my legs and hands, the list goes on! Before my op, I was starting to get my symptoms under control and starting to feel ‘normal’ again, now I’m losing hope.

Thanks for reading my ramblings.

U

Hi Star13, yes I’m on 50 at the moment, and I don’t feel like they’re controlling my symptoms at all, I was given 3 months worth, I have a very good pharmacist, I’ve been using them for the last 17 years, she doesn’t give up easy when she can’t find something bless her!! I am always forgetting when to blinking change them!! xx

Fuschia-pink thank you, and I’d love to have some of the sun of the south coast right now! xx

Scrumbler- that’s what I was worried about, hence my post.
