Hi,
I posted earlier this week any many thanks to those who replied. The thread is here: healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...
I was awaiting an appointment with an endocrinologist in mid Sept further to an ultrasound I had last week. I was advised at the time that there were 2 ‘lumps’ on my thyroid that were non suspicious and ‘no sign of any cancer’.
I’ve now received a letter to cancel my endo appointment and to re book to see a thyroid surgeon. I’m confused and worried by this. Perhaps the new apt is for an FNA but it doesn’t explicitly state this?
When the GP referred me to endo he suggested that I had 2 cysts that shouldn’t cause me any problems. In fact I’ve had various symptoms for 9 months and am also awaiting a referral to a neurologist. I can only assume the GP doesn’t believe the growths are causing thyroid issues or hasn’t joined the dots.
I’ve ordered private blood tests for thyroid function and active B12 etc on kind advice I was given here but I’m feeling that I might need to look at seeing a private endocrinologist to try and get thorough investigation/answers. Can anyone point me in the right direction for private doctors or have any recommendations? I’m in north west England.
Thank you for reading!
