Sorry I have been on here a lot recently but im falling back in tbe well again. I have always struggled on levo but found NDT and it was a life saver. Just over a year ago I was on Armour and felt brilliant but my Nhs trust would no longer provide it. I soldiered on back on levo but adding some NP NDT I had left over from a while ago which worked until NP ran out. I again tried Levo alone but felt awful but then tried adding synthetic t3 again with no discernible improvement. I stupidly bought W.P when this appeared again but it doesnt work at all. I stupidly followed this up by buying Armour but this has changed too. I have a quantity of Thiroid here that works from Thailand but I react badly to its fillers and it gives me horrific insomnia. Before I spend more money on Thyreogland from Germany as my last resort would taking an anti histsmine alongside Thiroid stop the reaction to it. Does anyone please know. I am running out of options. I have also tried Metavive with no positive improvement. I sm a different person from last year where I lost several stone and was a regular gym goer. Now I look like a pregnant woman and get breathless tieing my laces!

From my own experience which may or may not be appropriate for you..... split levothyroxine doses into at least 2 maybe 3, pressurise your nhs for a trial of levothyroxine AND liothyronine- I get 5mcg liothyronine plus 100-125 mcg levothyroxine every day (split dosing of both) it’s the only regime that works and yet I still have to vary the levothyroxine +/- 25mcg every few days. Some of us are horribly sensitive to levothyroxine but it is essential. I have also argued successfully with my GP that so is liothyronine - in physiologically normal proportions with levothyroxine. Starting a trial would benefit from monthly or bi-monthly blood tests and a daily symptom diary For 3 months, then see......

Thank you. I hsvevtried liothyronine alongside but didnt really find it thst helpful. I gained awful weight and it gave me bad insomnia. I was on 100 Levo snd 25 lio split in two doses.

Not surprised you had a bad experience!..... that liothyronine dose was 4 or even 5 times too much. I take 5 mcg liothyronine split into three. It makes a huge difference because it's very powerful compared to levothyroxine and yet we need both. The healthy thyroid gland gives about 100 levothyroxine and 5-8 liothyronine.

Maybe an option would be to try the new Thai ndt (Tru-Thyroid) or thyrovanz(bovine). Thyroid-S is currently on backorder.

When you say NP, do you mean NP by Acella? If so, in the USA there was a recall on the product.

Yes but I had some of the old N.P left not the current variant.

Just wondering how you are getting on?? What ndt did you decide to try? I actually did very well on thiroyd, until they stopped making it any more. And now seem to be making the same mistakes as you looking for something that actually works!!
