Question: what is the relationship between your daily temperature and hypothyroidism? What does the daily temp reveal about whether your thyroid medication dose needs to be higher versus lower? Thanks.

Relationship between daily temperature and hypothyroidism
Hi there - the thyroid gland is your thermostat - if you start to overheat in the warmer weather and you would know as it is an awful feeling - then your levels might be a little too high for that temperature - if you are freezing cold - cold hands and feet and other symptoms start to return then you may need to 'up' your medication - I am on liquid so it is easy for me to up and down my meds but not so easy when I was on tablets but I still managed - I used to just nibble my tablet to get a tiny bit more when needing to go up and in reverse for reducing.
Hope this helps
Low body temperature can mean you're under-medicated, but I've discovered that your thermometer can be misleading, which doesn't help. I have a couple of thermometers that regularly tell me I'm 35C, which is very low.
I recently invested in a more accurate thermometer, because I didn't trust my existing ones, and my temperature is typically 36.8C on that. It's important to find out what is the normal healthy temperature range for your thermometer, and to compare against that.
Body temperature, the body tries to maintain a temp of 37c, a lower reading can indicate low thyroid levels, problem is with taking your temperature it needs to be at rest, plus an important thing dont drink less than 20-30 mins before as this can skew the results.
Thyroid and temperature is an indicator of your FT3 the energy hormone...
Hope that helps
