Antibody Blood test

Good Morning,

I just wanted to know when would be the best time to take the antibody test I purchased. I will take my last set of medication fo the day at 10.30pm tonight and the next set starts at 6.30am tomorrow morning. My question is, should I be taking it before I take my meds in the morning and should I be taking the set of meds the night before?

Thanks

Is this the FULL thyroid and ultra vitamin test...TSH, Ft4 Ft3 plus both antibodies and all four vitamins ?

Or just thyroid antibodies?

Are you taking any supplements that contain biotin?

Or any iron supplements??

If so stop these a week before testing

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

I am taking the full thyroid test with the vitamins.

I am on carbimazole and propranolol as well as vitamin D supplements. Would I need to stop these?

I am trying to make sure I have been given the right diagnosis. As it stands the doctor is very adament that I am hyperthyroid but the only tests he has done are the ones I posted - the tsh, t4 and t3.

No carryon as normal, don’t stop either propranolol or Carbimazole

Just don’t take vitamin D on morning of test

Apologies should have read your first post before replying

Are you also testing Trab antibodies

I will purchasing the Trab test this week. I was told on Friday that my t4 and t3 levels are dropping but I still feel a slight burning sensation in my spine and neck/ upper chest, at times in my armpit.

I also went for a scan on friday although the report hasn't been sent to my doctor yet. The doctor taking the scan did confirm she saw some nodules.

Thank you all this helpful information.

Nodules can be hot nodules meaning they make thyroid hormones autonomously, instead of following TSH instructions

Or if Hashimoto’s scan can show granular appearance.

I think the Trab test possibly has to be a blood draw not DIY fingerpick test

Okay, thank you. I will get the test done this week and post the results as soon as I start receiving them.
