Feeling disappointed

Hi Everyone,

Feeling a bit deflated this morning. Tried taking my first Medichecks test at home and I think I’ve blown it. I couldn’t get enough out to fill to the second line. I think it’s probably going to be voided. I tried all the tips mentioned on here but still no good. I was really looking forward to getting these results too.

You can request another test if not enough blood I think or if you send it they will replace it if not enough

Really? I would be over the moon if they do send another because I’m desperate to get the results. I’ll just have to work out a way of getting a bigger sample x

Did you use more than one finger?

Which test? If it was the UltraVit then I doubt there'll be enough. If it was Thyroid Monitoring then if you've managed to get the the 400 (first) line then there's likely to be enough.

If they can't complete the test they will contact you and should send you another one, if they don't offer then ask for one. You can change the replacement test from fingerprick to a venous blood draw test if you want to but you'd have to find someone to take the blood for you (all clinics, etc, currently wont do it).

Yes I used 4 fingers in total and all the lancets in the pack. It’s the Ultravit test. I did call Medichecks to see if there was any point sending it back and they said send it as they may be able to get the tests done if I’ve got it to the first line but if not they’ll send me another test which I’m relieved for. I thought it would be one chance and that’s your lot. I’m hoping I can get better at collecting 😅 x

I have to say those lancing devices are absolutely brutal!

When I have used them, I find that actually initially I feel like I won't get enough out, but by the time I've finished the kitchen looks like there's been some sort of nasty accident. Once the puncture gets going, it seems to improve.

They are horrid though.

Thank you, I know! I feel like had more on my hands than in the tube! I’ve got 4 quite bruised fingertips now lol x
